Development of a pilot of food conservation in Rwanda
With the support of French Treasury, WGS and Iroko Africa are developing a prototype of food conservation system supplied by geothermal.
Launched in the beginning of 2025, the commissioning of the plant is planned for June 2026.
Located near the border of Burundi, the geothermal site has the capacity to supply a small stand-alone geothermal plant. Based on direct use of heat, the plant will help local farmers to keep their production longer and to improve its quality, improving the food security as well as their income.
