Partnership to accelerate geothermal development in East Africa

WGS is involved in a partnership with AFPG and supported by AFD, together
with Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, aiming at mutualizing best practices.

Launched in may 2025 in Nairobi, Kenya, the FEXTE project is led by the French Association of Geothermal Professionals, and consists in 3 components, WGS being involved in all 3.

WGS will start with the mapping of the geothermal potential in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda in order to support decision makers. WGS will then work along with Iroko Africa to define the strategy for geothermal development. Then WGS will lead the training sessions, involving Geodeep’s members.
