Effect of climate change on water resources in Wallis
WGS leads a hydrogeological study to assess the effect of climate change on ground water resources in the small
pacific island of Wallis.
Small islands are particularly vulnerable to climate change, affecting the availability of fresh water.
During this project, WGS developed an innovative methodology for the environmental office of Wallis, with the support of the Pacific Commission, to enable decision makers to assess the effect of climate change with simple tools and scarce data.
The methodology was thought to be replicated to other small islands, with few data available.
